Recently I encountered that my partner’s ex-girlfriend Jen – the girl who broke his heart – was Jenny Summers, the finelooking blonde girl the year under me at school. It shattered my illusions in regards to my partner’s former life being dead and buried. Here she was, alive, still stunning, and catching up with us over coffee.
Discovering that our collaborator – the most special person in our life – has been somebody else’s special person before us is an aweinspiring feeling. It’s made worse when that somebody else is someone we know.
Do you forbid him to see her? Do you terminate your friendship with her? Do you refrain from the parties of mutual friends?
For all you women in relationships, here are five tips to cope with the ex-girlfriend who’s way too friendly with you and your man:
1. Be honorable with your partner. Tell him that you feel threatened that his ex-girlfriend is in both your lives, and that you need him to be sensible to how he treats you both.
2. Change your phone number.
3. When she emails asking you to lunch, say no. Explain that your fabulous, highly salaried job, and your spontaneously romantic boyfriend consume all your time.
4. You’re regarding to see your partner’s ex. Stuff a cushion down your front and arch your back a little. Tell her gleefully, “We’re due in 3 months.”
5. Find out the ex’s birthday and set your wedding date smack bang on top of it. That way you may be sure she’ll decline the invitation.
If all else fails, there’s always the mature way to behave: tell her that while you like her, you feel awkward having her around. Then pray you don’t arrive home to find a boiling bunny on the stove.

 A Must-Hear Album

This is one of my bestloved reggae albums, one of my bestloved live albums, and just one of my favored albums. The album opens with an intro, a man pumping up the Parisian audience for Blondy’s aspect on stage; this is followed by a musical intro and then Blondy himself. The tracks blend together well, and the overall flow of the album actually makes me feel as if I was there or had seen the show. The music is amazing, full of spirit and energy, once in a while fast, at times more subdued, perhaps imparting a sentiment of reverence. The bass is strong, as well as the horns–sax, trumpet, and outstanding trombone. Blondy’s lyrics are evenly captivating and inspiring; he sings here in various languages, mainly French and English. The theme is predominantly spiritual, and has influences from Christianity (as in Come Back Jesus), as well as Islam, Judaism, and others. I genuinely admire his message of transcending “religious” divergences to unite in spirituality. Check it out. There are likewise assorted songs of a more political vein, such as Politiki and Multipartisme. If you’re into Alpha Blondy, or are even interested, check out this album!

Alpha Blondy Live in Paris

I’m a huge reggae fan with ALOT of reggae albums and through the years this album has always stayed in heavy rotation. Although most of the lyrics are in French the music in truth speaks for itself. There are few reggae albums I would consider in the category of this album (Right up there with Babylon by Bus). The sound mix is amazing. I wish all live albums could sound this good. The bass player alone makes this album worth purchasing but there is also outstanding percussion, organ and brass instrumentation that make this album great. If you like good reggae music, played and jammed to perfection then you NEED this album in your headphones.
PS. This is the album above all albums to have if you like to listen to reggae while you ski. Hands Down!
