Works ok but range may take a lot of improvement
By Firelion
I purchased this item to provide an automatic light at the brick stairs at one entrance to my front yard. The motion sensor was put right at the gate and it controls the light switch in my kitchen nicely. The distance amongst sensor and switch is in regards to 20 ft. But when I tried to move the sensor to another spot, when it comes to 30 ft. distance, it became a little erratic. This is a cry from the claimed working distance of 100 ft.
One word of caution: this device will not work with cfl bulbs. The rocker switch may be competent to turn the lights on and off, but the receiver in the switch will not work with the sensor when cfl bulbs are in the circuit.

Works, but not as advertised.

I purchased the Heath Zenith WC-6053-WH Motion Light Set from Amazon because I wanted a way to turn on three outdoor lights at once.
Installation went pretty well, I found the control box fit fine and the motion detection piece was a great deal easy to mount.
I had hoped to find this unit in beige, but no one seems to trade that one.
I likewise had to buy a new wall plate, as my installation emplacement had a double switch there, but most hardware stores will carry a double wall plate with one regular hole and one 1×3 hole.
The trouble with this unit comes with operation. Sure it detects movement, but then after kicking the lights on they stay on.
The motion detection is not sensible sufficient out the front, and hyper sensible at the sides. It wouldn’t detect me walking throughout the end of my driveway 25 feet away no matter what sensitivity/range setting I used, yet it would detect persons walking on the side walk besides my house which is 75 feet away and 90 degrees from center, so I ended up having to turn the sensitivity/range setting to keep that from happening.
Dual brite crud doesn’t work as advertised either. Yeah the lights turned on at dusk, but then they too stayed on all night long.
As is I use this to come home to, but then have to hit the off switch on the light once in the house. Not so handy, not working as advertised and not worth the money. There has to be a better solution or the same solution made to work more reliably, because unless you plan on using this as I have described, you will not be happy with it.

Pretty good but noth without it is faults
By Deanna Geissler
I purchased two of these to fetch lights on in the driveway as humans neared the house. Installation went pretty easy for any person with a rudimentary understanding of electronics. However, the users/installation manual was difficult to understand/follow and was distinctly not written by a native english speaker. In addition, the advertised function range is not as claimed. I have my detector hanging from an overhang regarding 30 ft from the actual switch. However, anything beyond this range (my preferent option) resulted in haphazard function. As I moved the detector closer to the wall switch, the strength of the signal was more dependable and ensured function. Outside of 30 ft is a crap shoot resulting in lights coming on occasionally and not others. Other functions of dim and auto-shut-off seem to work fine. However, once I figured out the users manual and moved the sensor in close, the unit is dependable and works as I desire.
