Epitomizing contemporary minimalism, the U-Boat Men’s Classico Watch boasts an oversized beige dial and big black baton and Arabic hour markers and black hands. Contrasting these bold features is a little date window at the three o’clock position. Hidden behind this bold dial is this watch’s mechanical Swiss automatic movement, a feature that means this watch will never need a battery as it’s powered by the motion of your arm. An antireflective sapphire crystal protects the dial, and a stitched calfskin band ensures this beautiful timepiece remains stylishly fastened to your wrist. The strap closes with a double push-button deployment safety clasp. Other features include a stainless steel case, an oversized crown, and water-resistance to 330 feet (100 meters).
The U-Boat StoryAbout U-Boat Watches
- A New Dimension in Time-
Back in 1942 the “Officine Fontana” was poised to invent a professional watch for the distinguished officers of it is navy’s U-Boats. Though the project was in the end scrapped, the distinguishable initial drawings, color samples and progressed materials were lovingly preserved for more than 60 years. In 2000, Italo Fontana, a cousin of the watchmaker’s late founder, made a long held company dream come unfeigned with the launch of today’s inspired U-Boat brand.
U-Boat watches, just like their primary namesake, are bold, aggressive and oversized. These timepieces embodied strength and style and revealed the distinctive personality of the man behind the revival, Italo Fontana: “It took me seven years to formulate and tweak the U-BOAT watches. Inspired by 18th century craftsmanship and intricate made-by- hand detailing we may now give rise to a timepiece of rare artisanal quality that reaches to a new dimension of watch making.”
Character and strength is a hallmark of the U-Boat brand. All watches in the line are designed with the crown on the left side of the case. It is both a distinguishable and unexpectedly comfortable timepiece to wear. This distinguishable signature is the brand statement: Classic yet powerful.
All items in the collection are made with either automatic or manual Swiss ETA mechanical movements. Each are housed in full-bodied, oversized, steel cases.
PVD treated crystals, and precious metals beautifully merge with rubber and steel details, challenging conventional design standards in the world of timepieces.

In 2005, Italo Fontana joined forces with Mounir Moufarrige, an acclaimed tastemaker known for breathing new life into Montblanc and Chloé.
