4Gimex Thermometer- good on second try
By Counselor68
The introductory thermometer arrived, and sat on my kitchen counter for 24 hours before I hung it outside. I cited that there was a variance from my Indoor thermometer, and my thermostat of from 2 to 4° This was unacceptable. There was no way to adjust the reading. I hung it beneath the patio in shade for another 24 hours and the temp. differed from that broadcast by the same variance as inside.
I returned the gauge for a replacement. This one had less than 2° divergence with that of my other thermometers, inside. 2° is adequate for the purpose at this price!
The thermometer is rather beautiful and goes with the white of the patio undercover. The hash marks are a bit difficult to read from more than 10′ away, and the marks are set at 2° intervals. Only even-numbered twenty’s are labeled; others are plainly hash-marked, so it takes a heap of thought to ferret out 93° or 77°.
I would have liked to have had all multiple of tens labeled ( e.g. 30-40-50-60-70, etc.) rather than 20-40-60-80-100.
It would appear that this product is somewhat priced. It is well-made, was well-packaged, and arrived promptly after ordering. Getting a substitute was a breeze!

5Quality construction, seems to be ‘right on’

Although it’s all plastic with the exception of the front glass, it doesn’t feel cheap like most other plastic models. Temperature seems exact enough. Slightly littler and harder to read from a distance than our former 12″ with bolder type, but you may tell the temp looking only at the needle position once you’ve memorizing the locatings of the markings. I believe this will last a long time without the lens clouding up.
