The Steinhausen StorySwiss inventor and architect Ulrich Van-Heusen was a master craftsman who committed himself to his trade. He lived in an era when only the wealthy could afford a timepiece. But in 1923, Van-Heusen finished his primary automatic calendar watch – only one of seven he ever completed. It displayed not only the time, but also the date, day and month; and it was the initial to designate the divergence amidst AM and PM. Van-Heusen named his brand Steinhausen after the region in Switzerland from where his family came. He was steadfast in his faith that wristwatches, not the prevalent pocket watch, would ultimately become an item persons could not live without. And he was correct! The Great Depression almost annihilated handmade watches of this quality. One that remains today fetched $300,000 at auction. Wristwatches became the must-have item for humans of all social strata, but the discerned gentry continued to buy Steinhausen’s handcrafted marvels. Steinhausen proceeds it is reputation of manufacturing the finest workmanship and classy designs. Like the primary Steinhausen, each watch is painstakingly reproduced by hand from 185 authenti Swiss parts. Then it is so strictly tested for two weeks that just six percent of movements made end up in a Steinhausen. Swiss automatic motion standards concede for an accuracy of +25/-27 seconds per day. Our Steinhausen watches rate +15/-13 seconds per day, making it more accurate.

4Fashion over Form

I’ve waited a few weeks to write this so I could give it a reasonable shake. I was, and still am, very happy with the overall ‘look’ of the item. I haven’t employed a wallet in over a decade (never understood sitting on all your cash & cards) and have for the most part just employed cheap pleather cash clips from the mall. I’m at a point now though that I make very good cash and in my business you must ‘look the part.’ So, not that this is an pricey item, but after a few flights and seeing this Steinhausen iWallet in SkyMall over and over I figured I’d alter things up. The bottom-line is that it looks great, but it’s unquestionably too tight to hold much more than cash. Plus, and perhaps it’s just me, the natural way of keeping and opening it is opposite to how you’d want to for getting to the cash. As long as you don’t have more than 6 cards (2 per slit), or may do without the others by keeping them elsewhere like I did, then this is a outstanding item!

4I’ve been using it for years
By C. Crain
As a woman, I carry this in my front pocket when I’m buying goods so I don’t have to worry when it comes to an individual snatching out of my person while shopping. It without apparent effort holds three credit cards plus ID and the cash clip is still going strong. I’ve had others ask where I got it. I’m when it comes to ready to order another….

The wallet left something to be desired. The metal cash holder was combersome and the wallet did not fit my pocket well.
