1Amazon can’t keep their inventory straigtht
By ffq
I ordered this watch in Dec 2009 just in time for the Holidays and when it arrived the watch had the defective wrist band on. It was all stainless steel rather of having a rubber insert in the middle as is pictured here – even the model number has the letters STR (which stands for stainless & rubber). When I called I was given the royal run around. The last I heard Amazon was pulling the product out of inventory because various clients had complained — probably getting the same watch with the wrong wrist band. How difficult is it to solve that problem? (this would be a good chance to use all those telephone numbers they gather and never use). The watch has now reappeared at Amazon but has closely doubled in price. It went from $599 to $999 and Amazon is not the vendor now. In the mean time, I have a watch that I like but not the band. Although this is their mistake, they won’t replace it, only give me a credit. You would think that given the circumstances they would be a little more tolerant or lenient given that the watch has not been worn and still is packed in the protective plastic from the manufacturer. All I want is the rectify watch, as presently advertised again, at the sales price I paid back in December.
