5Works Like A Charm
By Dr. Jay R. Goldstein
I have a Breitling chronomat which is a pain in the butt to reset, accordingly I necessitated a quality winder. This is by all accounts the Cadillac of watch winders. It comes in a beautifully finished wood box. The watch winder sits inside the box but is not attached and may be effortlessly removed. There are three things you need to know that are not spelled out in the directions: 1. It keeps a wound watch ticking but does not wind an unwound watch. So it is necessary that your watch is entirely wound when you place it in the unit. 2. The optimal setting is the “10″ because that formulates 900 turns per day whereas the “15″ setting prduces only 700. It comes set at 10, so no need to change it. 3. It’s necessary that the mechanism be pushed all the way back in the box (there is room for it to move forward)because if it is forward you do not want your watch to touch the roof of the box as that will prevent it from functioning properly. I had stuffed the warranty and directions in the back of the box, and moved the unit forward creating this problem and, as the top was closed, it stopped working. sevice straightened me out immediately. After you get it going, leave the top open for a while so you may see that your watch does not rotate but gently swings back and forth. It will work utterly if you follow these simple instructions.
