The Scent of Romance and Love…
By Scarlett O’ Payne
This perfume is such a gorgeous fragrance. It is not a actually strong fragrance which is perfective for me. However, it is lovely and others may receive pleasure from it as well when you wear it. I have a very sensible sense of smell and always be grateful for a beautiful, non over-powering scent. This perfume has been one of my favorites for years. I love to wear it in the spring and summer, especially. You genuinely may wear it all year round of course. If you want to feel like a effeminate woman, this would be an splendid fragrance choice for you. I also love the pretty bottle it comes in. Enjoy!

Subtle and romantically captivating fragrance
By Paul
This fragrance for women has been around a long time. While not as frequent as it was in the 50′s because of the dominant promotion of merchandise that have eclipsed this and other “heirloom” products, L’air du Temps is still a terrifically romantic fragrance. I have introduced it as a gift to assorted of my special friends and family members. Everyone of them have loved the subtle, tame quality of this product and proceed to use it as their particular occasion fragrance. MISTY Memories
By Shiloh True
I was still, but a child, when I pulled my introductory tiny bottle of this 1948 classic, L’Air du Temps, from my Christmas stocking. I was mesmerized by the bottle, and, the birds, more than the content. In fact, I wasn’t rather into fragrances, yet, and was not impressed with the smell; I wrinkled my nose; my father grinned. I can’t say the same for my mother, who gifted with the same fragrance, swooned when she dabbed her neck. I may still see my dad’s beaming face—the joy he received gifting his bestloved girls, with such a special treat.
From that Christmas on, L’Air du Temps became a holiday tradition, through my 20′s. While I initially took the fragrance for granted, I begun to tardily become enamoured with it, and I was struck by the realization that my dad was a man of refined taste. This realization hit home, most profoundly, when he was all of a sudden taken from us. This is when I realized that fragrances are much more than the olfactory experience; they invoke galore emotions, on such a deep psychological level, that just one passing whiff may send you time-traveling.
L’Air du Temps is, plainly put, a beautiful, spicy floral that is a ought to for any individual who loves feminine, classy, vintage type scents. I don’t care if I’m wearing jogging shoes and grungy jeans, when I apply this scent, I of a sudden feel like the gamin faced, Audrey Hepburn, or sometimes, I morph into the sultry Claudia Cardinale, who reportedly loved this fragrance. There is not another scent that makes me feel as feminine.
I recognise I’m likely partial because I have a history with this fragrance, but also because of the carnation (a favored of mine), which is in the top notes, along with neroli, bergamot, rose and Brazilian rosewood. The middle notes likewise comprise carnation, with rosemary, gardenia, violet, orchid, cloves, orris root, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and more rose. While I think the carnation lingers through, and remains detectable hours after application, the final notes include spices, iris, amber, sandalwood, musk, benzoin, oak moss, vertiver and cedar.
There are some that say, that even though there has been a reformulation, likely for cost control, that this creation still has more natural ingredients than a heap of others, and has not strayed too far from the original, for the purists to still take delight in it. I tend to agree, but sure wish it could have kept it is classic formula.
In memory of my father, I was looking for some L’Air du Temps to gift myself for Christmas. I was thrilled to find it at such a savings here on Amazon, particularly for the 3.3 oz size. It has arrived, and I’m delighted. It appears as fresh as any that I have purchased at fine section stores, and much better than my last drug store purchase, at twice the cost. It IS the real deal!
While reminiscing, I focalized on the little doves and I was reminded of their universal meaning—one of love, hope, peace, fidelity and new beginnings. I was filled with overpowering gratitude, for that firstborn little bottle of L’Air du Temps, and everything was, put-right, for the New Year.
