5Fersen will be a giant!
By Maya Bernard
We still talk in regards to Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens, Édith Piaf, Boris Vian, Léo Ferré and Jean Ferrat. (in Quebec, for sure) All these singer are giants in the french music world. So what? Thomas Fersen will be a giant too!

This album, «le jour du poisson» is one of the four albums of Fersen, but is for me, the best one or, rather, the one to commence with, because they are all great!

This album is a blend of jazz, bossa-nova, almost salsa, gypsie and standard music. All the songs are uniques and differents. This album is a sun in a house or an appartment, it puts love, hope, and smile in everybody’s heart.

In more, the lyrics are so beautiful! Fersen is a poet, a outstanding composer and a outstanding singer.

This album fetch together his romantic voice, a piano, a double-bass, dissimilar percussions, guitars, numerous brass, violons,a clarinet, and an accordion! (not all on the same song!)

You will listen of Thomas Fersen, as much as all the giants of french music!

5Tres Magnifique!
By G. Bonine-Giles
What an aroused whirly-bird this disc is! Alternately soaring and rumbling, at times silly, now and then sinister. Fersen mixes styles from around the spectrum into a fun stew. There is a bit of Tom Waits in here, galore gypsy, numerous Bal Musette, numerous jazz, a good deal of tango. Some highlights: Bucephal – a drunken carnival that lurches along on high-octane accordian. Les Papillons — almost nostalgic vintage French lounge music. Moi Qui Me Croyant un Saint — cigarette-stained Waitsian yearnings.

I grasp closely none of the lyrics (it is all in French), but no matter. This album transports you into Fersen’s world. I’m not sure what all the rules may be in that world, but it’s a great place to hang out for a while.

5Nice taste for music !
By Sound Profiler
Thomas is more or less like TOM WAITS,I think. The arrangement is superb and graceful and romantic. This guy knows how to make his music flow into the air freely. Moreover, his voice is elastic, stylistic. Many musical influences is heard all around the album. The primary thing is the rhythm is cooked cheerfully and nihilistically.Old time music and innovative music are mixed with good balance. This is the ought to item for real music lovers.
